While we’re most proud of the Cougars players who have reached the Major Leagues, we cannot ignore some of the opponents who visited Fifth Third Bank Ballpark to play against the Cougars on their way to the big leagues. As with the Cougars alumni, this list includes more Major League All-Stars, Gold Glove Winners, Silver Sluggers and MVP’s. Along with established superstars like Albert Pujols, Felix Hernandez and Alex Rodriguez, the list includes the next generation of baseball stars including Carlos Beltran, Torii Hunter, Joe Mauer and Johan Santana. The White Sox and Cubs also are well- represented with Mark Buehrle, John Danks and A.J. Pierzynski and Carlos Marmol, Sean Marshall and Carlos Zambrano, respectively.
