Started in 2002, the Cougars
Holiday Hoorah centers on a gift
drive benefiting children in
need in the Chicago area.
Gathering donations from Cougars
fans throughout the months of
November and December, Ozzie and
members of the Cougars staff
make special deliveries of toys
collected and spreading holiday
cheer to children and families
throughout Geneva and
surrounding towns.
Winter Banquet
Each year the Cougars host a dinner banquet
and silent auction for charity. What began
as an opportunity to keep in touch with fans
during the winter has grown into one of the
organization's primary charitable events.
Cougars management and representatives of
the baseball team join a keynote speaker
from the baseball industry to preview the
coming season and share some stories while a
silent auction raises money for area
charities. Proceeds from the dinner and
auction have built homes, improved parks and
created programs to guide at-risk youth
through the gauntlet of gangs and drugs.
