With less than
three weeks until the first pitch of ’09 is
thrown at Elfstrom Stadium, the anticipation
among fans and Cougars staff continues to
grow as the renovation project nears its
final stages. Last week, we showed you some
preliminary photos of the new-look souvenir
shop on the first base side of the
concourse. The expanded space, which
formerly housed the administrative offices,
has now received boxloads of new Cougars
merchandise which is currently going into
the shop and will be ready for display next
month. The souvenir shop will be enjoyed by
fans for many reasons, including the fact
that the new store will feature air
conditioning and heat.
Elsewhere around
the stadium, new carpeting is being
installed in the upper deck. This includes
the suites, Super Suite and hallway
throughout the upper deck interior. The
concourse level is looking great too, as
areas such as the press box, concession
stands and clubhouse are being re-stocked
with necessary items and equipment in
preparation for the home opener on April 13.
New carpeting is
in place -- a view from a suite on the first
base side.
The Super Suite
was also carpeted this week.
Equipment,
including brand-new game jerseys, have
arrived and are being stored in the home
clubhouse.
