A mild warm-up
has engulfed Elfstrom Stadium and all I can
say is...it's about time! With temperatures
in the 50's, construction crews have
certainly enjoyed the welcome change in
temperature and watching the snow helplessly
melt away from the ballpark, including the
new roof. As pitchers and catchers report
for spring training in a matter of days,
Cougars baseball seems closer than ever
since the final out was recorded at Elfstrom
Stadium last September.
This morning, interior work continued on the
luxury suite level as air units and fans
were moved by a crane to the upper level.
Similar to last fall during the installation
of glass windows for the atrium/lobby area,
using the crane requires the coordination
and communication of the crane operator,
workers at ground level, and additional
workers up above who receive and install the
equipment.
Elsewhere around the ballpark, new tiling
was recently installed in the luxury suite
level bathrooms. Drywall has been placed
into the atrium/lobby area, which connects
the new administrative building to the
ballpark.
Enjoy this week's photo gallery --
officially our 20th construction update
since last fall! Next week, we'll plan on
taking photos outside of Elfstrom Stadium
from various spots within a quarter-mile of
the ballpark. Many fans have told us how
great the stadium looks from the
intersection of Rt. 38 and Kirk Road. We'll
take the camera there next week for you.
