After talking
with several fans at last week's Winter
Banquet and Silent Auction, I sense that
there's a lot of anticipation for this
year's home opener, which will be the first
game played at the renovated home of the
Cougars. Folks, mark your calendars for
Monday, April 13 and make sure to get your
favorite seats before they're gone! You
won't want to miss Opening Day this season.
Lots of updates to report on this week as
construction crews have put the frigid month
of January behind them. With much of the
drywall in place on the first base side,
workers have been busy priming and painting
the suites and hallway on the luxury suite
level. The super suite is beginning to take
shape too, with the addition of drywall and
door frames.
As busy as the luxury suite level is these
days, the concourse down below is relatively
quiet, although still of vital importance to
the construction crew. Along the concourse,
workers have kept some machinery while
storing supplies (i.e. piping and other
small parts) that will be installed in the
weeks to come. Workers are continuing the
painting of the concourse's steel overhang,
which will be a nice shade of green.
Also while on the rooftop decks, I couldn't
help but think about a June evening when the
great aroma of a grilled sandwich or burger
fills the air. The rooftop decks on the
luxury suite level will give groups a
fantastic view of the field and a private
event catered by Cougars staff. With
pitchers and catchers reporting for spring
training in less than two weeks, the start
of baseball is closer than you think!
