NOVEMBER 24, 2008

As winter breathes down on Chicagoland, construction workers have been sheltered from the cold outdoor wind with a temporary barrier along the concourse and directly behind the seating bowl. Walking the concourse this afternoon, I noticed how big of a difference it makes in reducing the wind and cold. For these workers who are outdoors more than 8 hours a day, that must be a huge relief.

This past Saturday, more than 250 fans came out to Elfstrom Stadium for the Cougars' annual ticket on-sale event. While enjoying a breakfast buffet and getting tickets for game dates of their choice, fans were also able to get a glimpse of the progress around the ballpark. The feedback among the fans I talked with was tremendous, and it certainly seems that there's a great deal of anticipation for the '09 season. With tickets on sale now, there's no better time to make sure you get prime seats for Opening Day, which will be the first game played in the newly-renovated Elfstrom Stadium.

The suites on the first base side begin to take shape.
